Guess who’s getting a multimillion-dollar makeover? The already luxurious Four Seasons Resort Hualālai on Hawaiʻi Island.

The redesign—helmed by San Francisco-based design firm BAMO and BrightView Design Group, which did the landscape architecture, design and construction—comes as the property celebrates its 24th anniversary, and is the most significant renovation the resort has undergone since its opening. Costing the property over $100 million, almost every aspect of the Four Seasons Resort Hualālai has been updated.

First thing’s first? The pool. A new, elevated infinity pool now resides above the King’s Pond, Hualālai’s 1.8 million-gallon swimmable aquarium, letting guests wade the day away while watching their family or friends swim with the fishes below. A lounge deck surrounds the infinity pool and looks absolutely perfect for getting some rest and relaxation.

Every room and suite in the house has also been upgraded with new furniture, décor and bathroom finishes. While those renovations have already been made, in the coming months Four Seasons Hualālai will unveil their three newly refreshed villas, which have added a second story, an indoor-outdoor living space and a private plunge pool.

The resort will also host new activities for guests. These include cooking classes at a dedicated culinary academy, located upstairs from the resort’s signature restaurant, ʻULU Ocean Grill + Sushi Lounge. Travelers can also get educated about local marine life at the newly debuted Kumu Kai Marine Center, featuring a touch tank and digital educational displays, as well as unique marine life experiences such as private eagle ray feedings, a tide pool tour and a junior marine biologist experience.
