But it’s all OK, as Kevin hosts the show solo with one of the more packed episodes of the podcast we’ve ever had. Calvin Canha, Evan Hawkins and Brady O’Rear from reggae band Through the Roots, which was started back in 2007, joins Kevin on this episode of the Have Aloha Will Travel podcast to talk about what it’s like touring Hawaiʻi, how the idyllic views from Pūpūkea can. inspire music and more.

Based in California but with strong ties to Hawaiʻi—two of the four main band members come from the Aloha State—the band started small, playing at backyard parties and local house shows. Now, with three albums in the books and a brand new single just released—Refund—the band tours nationally and recently just finished up its most recent Hawaiʻi tour.
